My mare is a Black TBred mare and i bred her with a sorrel and white overo bald face blue eyed stud??
What color do you think the baby will be??
Black to red (chestnut/sorrel) gives you the possibility of black and red. If the red stud is carrying an agouti gene, then you have a chance of a bay foal as well.
Your chance of getting a spotted baby are about 50%.
In my own experience, the color you DON'T want is the color you'll get!
Reply:I'll try to use my genetics:
Black is Dominant (B)
White is Recessive (b)
BbXbb
Bb=B
bb=b X2
bb %26amp; Bb = 50% bb %26amp; %0% Bb
Phenotype: 50% either way.
So.. There's a 50% chance it will be white, 50% chance it wil be black
Reply:Depends a lot on the genetics of your mare. If your mare has two black genes her baby will be black and have 50% a chance of being paint. If your mare only has one black gene it will have a 25% of being black and 25% of being sorrel 25%black paint 25% sorrel paint

Reply:I'm not sure. He/she could be the color of either parents or he/she could be a black %26amp; white overo. He/she could have either color eyes. My personal guess %26amp; what I would hope for {if it was my foal}, would be a black %26amp; white overo, w/ blue eyes.
