What color for my horse?

I need to get a show halter for my horse soon! But the problem is what color? dark oil, light oil (or tan), medium oil, or black? She is a sorrel horse ( she's on my icon picture thingy. Please help me! I dont know whats in style for halter. I few years ago I was told it was a light color on dark horses and its a dark color on light horses, but then a few months ago I was told that this trend has changed. Please Help.

What color for my horse?
I say dark oil and here is a list of reasons lol well ok it's not a list but it's links to world champion halter stallions %26amp; mares sorrel or chestnut in color... see what they are using

so as you can see dark oil is prevelent in halter horses of sorrel or chestnut coloring. If this is what aqha and apha world champions are wearing well I'd follow suit:)
Reply:I also have a light sorrel horse.. at first we bought a light oil but i would go with the dark if i were you.. it makes them more dressy and catches the judges eye. im my opinion light things tend to blend in kinda with my horse making the saddle/bridle look dirty and unattractive. i found that when i got a nice dark saddle and bridle it really made my horse look more clean flashy and noticable. in the end its all your decision but just think of the goods and bads of each color// think of the effect it wil have.. :) good luck! have fun
Reply:Dark oil
Reply:I would go with a dark color like black that looks more original.
Reply:Dark brown is the best colour for showing. Is that the same as dark oil? Is your horse Chestnut? it is a little difficult to tell from the photo. I would still go with dark brown.
Reply:i would always go with dark.

It will always look neat as in proper
Reply:I try to match my halter with my other tack. I think a lighter color would look good on a sorrel. I have a sorrel gelding and I bought him a light to medium brown. Mine is nylon though, not leather. Do you show also? If you are not showing and it is just for tying up and trailering I wouldn't care what color it is as long as you like it. I don't go with trends, I go with what I think looks good. Use your own judgement, I'm sure it will be fine!
Reply:I would say light or medium oil. I like the light oil on Sorrel horses, and medium on darker horses.
Reply:pale, he probably needs a tan.
Reply:light oil.
Reply:id say a tan color like honey color it works on my liver chesnut and its beautiful
Reply:I would have to say either light oil or dark oil.
Reply:you have a beautiful horse so she should have the tan color because if she has the dark color it would look weird when you ride her so the tan would make her stand out from the other horses
Reply:id go with a dark color halter
Reply:I would say you generally can't go wrong with dark tack. Dark horses with light tack can look awful.
