What is your Christmas like away from trinidad?
it's very good being away from Trinidad i will have a better one here in new zeland i do not miss those (LIME) all they do is drunk and act stupid
Reply:I'm not from Trinidad (my husband is) he alway's talks about Christmas in Trinidad, but we've not made it back there for Christmas yet. My son went to Trinidad for Christmas year before last and he said outside of drinking a lot and eating a big curry chicken meal he didn't think it was "all that". We are Christian's and my husband's family in Hindu and I don't understand why they celebrate Christmas anyway but they decorate a bit and drink and eat and even hand out a few gift's. But my son said Christmas here in the states is better.
Reply:Honestly i don't miss Trinidad. May be due to the beauty of other places i have visited. But top of the list is my own country, Kenya. With all the beautiful and hospitable people, i don't find any better place. Take Nairobi for instance, which other city has a National park full of Lions, Elephants, Rhinos, Leopards, Buffaloes and any other wild animal worth mentioning just some few minutes drive away? What of Mombasa, with its beaches, Maasai Mara and all other places, oh no, a big no to Trinidad. Come %26amp; experience the true Xmas here.
Reply:Chef dread i spend 1 christmas in Atlanta one year ...ah nearly cry never me again. Ah only studying Trini Christmas whole time dread forget white Christmas ah love me Trini Christmas.

Now some people don't even understand our thing but, we eh vex with them for that...right re$h ?

You and yuh family have a Blessed and safe Christmas eh ah know yuh go cook up a storm doh forget the pastelle and de ham ...lawwwd oh de UPS man go strain sumting.

To the posse once again allyuh be safe out dey !

ohhh gosh ah forget de best Chrsitmas memory is all de family going by Uncle John cause all de gifts pack up under his tree and we gather there to open them, talk bout noise it was real nice den.
Reply:I dont know about those guys but I have been away 21 years and every year around this time I miss Trinidad. Nothing like hearing the parrang and going over friends home. Here is not the same. I get all those things on the Christmas menu and it does not make a difference. I guess it all depends on how your childhood memories were. Mine were very enjoyable and wish I were still here.
Reply:The one thing I miss about Trini Christmas is the parang, I love the classic parangs the best.
Reply:hi chef d!

well i've never been out of the country for christmas yet so i dont know what it is like.

but i have heard from some of my family who lives in canada how much they miss it, they always want any new parang cd's we get and all kinds of stuff. they try to keep the true trini spirit alive up there..

i went west mall and long circular over the weekend, and to tell u the truth, trini christmas is the best!!!

imagine seeing the garbage truck and maxi on the bus route with tinsel and thing on them!!!

we sweet yes!!!

and as for ROGER (above), maybe its your ppl that get drunk and act stupid, hence your ridiculous answer..

merry christmas to u and your family!!!!!!!
Reply:Honestly speaking....there are other beautiful places but there is no place like home. Theres something unique about a christmas in Trinidad.
