I had it for the first time when I went to visit my husband's family in Trinidad...his mom makes it at Christmas time.

Reply:Sorrel is a Rumex species. There are several medicinal plants in this family including yellow dock that clears liver stagnation, and sheep sorrel that is used in the Essiac formula to point the active constituents to the cancer.





Sorrel is tasty, but don't go too nuts; it contains oxalic acid that can be toxic if consumed in very large quantities.
