How much horse worth?
The horse market is a little slow right now across the board. A couple years ago a good prospect like yours might have been worth 2500-5000. Now if her breeding and confirmation are soild, maybe 1500-3000. The good news is that many people are still looking for good cutting horses so the market in that area is still fairly strong for a trained cutting horse.

It sounds like you like your mare a lot and want the best for her. Make sure that you take it slow and don't overwork her too early. Sometimes it is easy to forget that a horse that is 15.2 is still a baby with more growing to do. If you start them right, they have a lot fewer leg problems later. It is good that you are getting her used to a lot of different things early like the lariat or stepping over trail obstacles. That builds her confidence and is easy on her growing body too. That type of training will make her a terrific horse her whole life. Best of luck!
Reply:Well it's hard to tell without a photo. Hearing that halter is her discipline I think halter would be her breeding. So for me looking for a work horse that instantly knocks the price down a lot. You can find loads of good horses that are calm babies. Well that leads us to the baby part. Babies are worth less. Without a photo it's very hard to say the value.
Reply:I stopped reading once I saw that she's only 2 and has been ridden these last 5 months, not to mention already starting the very demanding discipline of cutting... My advice: Stop riding her for at least another year and in the mean time, groundwork, groundwork, groundwork. That is, if you want your mare to be sound by the time she turns 6.
Reply:Man...all that in 5 months of riding at the age of 2. You better hurry up and sell that horse quickly, she'll be totally broken down by the time she's 5 and not worth a dime!!!

Oh and you'll find Yahoo!Answers provide a Spell checker to make life easier for those trying to decipher your grammar!!
Reply:I don't know how much she's worth now. But she won't be worth much in a little while. She's only 2 and you've been riding her for 5months?! She's already cutting and doing western pleasure?! And you're already calling her a broodmare?! Wow. Just wow.
Reply:Nothing. I wouldn't buy a horse that will most likely be lame in a few years due to an owner who obviously doesn't know much about horse training or care about the welfare of the horse.
Reply:WRONG i agree a horse bein hard work b4 their two to three is a promise 4 back and foot problems. I own a training farm and i WOULDIN PAY more than 500. she has been worked to hard to be so young
Reply:At two doing all that she'll be crippled by the time she's 4, so she won't be worth anything.
Reply:maybe the average 1500...since she has so much training maybe a bit more.
Reply:you broke a yearling?!?! WRONG!! i wouldn't pay 500 dollars for this horse because she's going to be lame by the time she's 5. breaking and riding yearlings is BAD BAD BAD! let's just say she's a long 2 and you started her 5 months ago at 2 years old.. that's a little better but a 2 year old should not be in cutter training... it's way too hard on their legs and joints. the fact that she's 15.2 and 1000 pounds at 2 years old makes it worse that you're riding her this hard. this filly needs time to grow and mature before being ridden and pushed like this. i'd like to see a 2 year old still being line drived, and lightly backed at the most! you could honestly expect 1,500-2,000 dollars if her conformation is PERFECT and her pedigree is good
