I just bought a GORGEOUS sorrel horse. She has one tiny white ring on her front left foot, and a large white star on her forehead. She is still growing , and is in need of a new halter. What would be a good color? I was thinking maybe a hot pink? I need a cute color, kind of girly that makes her white marks, and color stand out from every other sorrel in the barn! Do you have any ideas of what color I should get???
Color Choices?!?
Hot pink wouldn't be too bad... It might be a little too flashy for a sorrel though... If you want pink I would go with a more pastel-ly color pink! Like light pink!
My friend has a pretty sorrel and She looks Beautiful in Lavendar.... If you want a cutsey girl color.
Good Luck and congrats on your new horse!!!
PS! If you want something a little less girl-ish I would say green but either one would look really nice!!!!
Reply:A nice purple halter would look good on her.
Reply:any color is great, but stay away from red hues like pinks and reds... they don't look that good. blues, greens, and TURQUOISE really stand out well! if you want more of a subtle color, burgundy is great. i personally do not think that hot pink would look good. i think turquoise should be used!
Reply:probably i would go with a nice purple or a bright stong blue. maybe even get one with some dimontys lol. the pink might look good but i dont really like pink.
even a deep burgandy red would look nice in the right shade.
Reply:Burgundy or deep purple would look gorgeous
Reply:I think lilac would look pretty on her. My friends chestnut looks cute in that color.
Reply:purple green or red and maybe pink
Reply:Turquoise
Reply:hmm i think a lighter pink would look nice too
Reply:Lime green would also look good, how about a bright purple?
Reply:I love purple and think it would stand out with her sorrel color. So will turquoise!
I saw a rich purple nylon web halter with bright pink trim and also saw a purple one with yellow trim at an online equine store. Wish could remember the site.
I have also seen lavender halters, light green, pastel pink, berry, lime, and burgandy, aqua, etc.
Google for halters and see what you can find.
Good luck choosing your colors and congratulations on your new horse!!
Reply:She sounds like a purple, pink, or even baby blue pony to me!
And then you could get a matching browband for her bridle at a place like this!:

I would stick to pastel-ish colors...neon/bright pinks don't look as good as they sound.
Reply:My first choice is a nice lime green, i think it will contrast nicely with her colors. I also think a purple would look nice too. I think it depends on what look your going for.
Reply:HOT PINK,
thats what im putting on my mare if i get a mare
Reply:pink doesnt go with sorrel but dark lime green deep purple and stay away from any yellow
Reply:its not girly but I think that hunter green would look the best on a sorrel..also bright red looks really good on them I think
Reply:I have a horse that is a brown dun color and her color is light purple. I wouldn't go for the pink (looks too "tacky"; no pun intended)
Reply:Neon orange.
Or a brown or black leather one.
Reply:I have 2 sorrels. Ones color is Purple and the other is lime green.
Reply:Pale colors aren't that common, you could try those. (i.e. white, baby pink, light lavender, ect.) The problem is thay can be hard to find because they are odd and get dirty fast.
I'd be careful with hot pink or other neon colors. Lots of people, especially young girls, get them wanting to stand out and be different, and pretty soon your whole barn is NEON. This happened at my barn for a time. Bad on the eyes let's say.
Another way to go is a really bright fire engine red. It surprisingly stand out well on red horses (who would have thunk?), stays clean and is very pretty
