What is a good name?

okay so i am buy a horse soon and i want to pick out a name for him. He is a15.2hh quarter horse and he is sorrel ( hansome ). I want a name to represent him. Please help!

think about his personality, maybe theres something he does that will give u an idea of naming him.... like for example- if he runs really fast, maybe call him Tornado,Cyclone, or Wind.......

Reply:its hard to name a horse without a picture or a VERY detailed discription ofwhat it looks like.. and to tell you the truth. i don't think you should've gone on here to ask that question.. i think it should all be from you.so you can be the full light and life of your horse. im happy for you that you got one. but i thnk it should be all you. its hard to explain with words. but a horse is a fine creature.. who needs an owner with the same spirit. however, if you would like some names, i'm happy to list a few for you!

i like coding names and making them have to do with me.. im german.. go to freetranslations.com and translate to a language from your blood. also.. u can use amired family names. your middle name.. somthing to do with you.. if you think about it.. a name is a giftfrom your heart to your horse...

Reply:Well, we have practically the same name, so I thought I'd put in my two cents.





I work at a summer camp, and every time we get our horses for the summer we rename them, because they come with dumb names like Sorrely (for sorrels), Pal (every single palamino), and Appy (every single appaloosa), Blackie, 4 Whites, Roanie, etc.





My favorite names we've dubed our geldings are Four Leaf Clover (we called him Forli), Cairo, Caddy (short for Caddilac), Lux, Redman, Carmel, Bubba (for the biggest goofiest QH you ever met), Paco (a big dun), Zeus (the most beautiful horse you ever met), Snickers, Checkers, Fuego, and Fearse (a huge chestnut TB).





Those were all happy-kiddy names, but I think it's endearing for a horse to have a name like that.

Reply:I have a beautiful sorrel gelding too! His full name is Handsome Harley Hondo, we call him Harley or Har. This is off topic, but I always wanted to have a horse named Spence, I have no idea why. Have fun naming him, you could always wait a little so you know his personality before you named him.

But yeah, it's hard to name a horse based solely on coloring and height.
Reply:well what is his name right now......and i always need to get to know the personality before i make that decision or if your into something that that animal resembles stuff like that.......i just bought a puppy about a month ago lil chihuahua she was 3.6 pounds tan her mom was the deer model and her dad an applehead so shes both i also work at disney so her name became Faylene Bambi's g/f in the movie Bambi and its perfect
