Riding clothes?

i ride western mostly team penning and roping that sort of thing. it is required to have a cowboy hat and a button up long sleeve shirt. im dirty blonde with brown eyes what colors or styes should i go with? and i have a sorrel horse what colors and styles of tack should i go with?

Riding clothes?
I think I would stay on the green/blue side. Sorrels look good in teal and that would show him off a little.

If you went with the varying brown shades, you would make your hair and the horse match more.

Black and gray would make your hair more colorful, and looks sharp.

Stay away from the pinks/purples/reds. I think they clash with sorrel horses.

Or else, go through your closet, pick out your favorite shirts, and if you see a similar color, match your horse tack to that!
Reply:Blues do look best on sorrel horses. Try to stay with the same color so you don't clash. Horse and Rider magazine talks about this kind of thing all the time, maybe try their web site. I do agree with most of the answers you have gotten, lots of very smart horse people!!!
Reply:teal w/ black i have dirty blond hair to but i have blue eyes and i have a sorrel horse to and my outfit this year is teal and it look really cool and the color looks good on me so it should on you and foe you horse go with a light brown tack good luck
Reply:I'd go with either a nice soft minty green %26amp; cream, or something in the aqua/turquoise family. As for tack, the natural tans would be good.
Reply:Teal.....yep teal is it !!!

you go girl!!!
Reply:it doesn't matter how the clothes look on you... its best to buy clothes and accessories that allow you and your horse to move freely and perform to the best of your ability... and if you where actually a real team penner or roper you would know that...
Reply:Dress like terry Clark! That will impress the judges!
Reply:i show racking horses . black, red it really does"nt matter it's what u feel is right.
Reply:Hi there,

If you go onto the Hobby Horse website you will see their color wheel. It shows all the colors that go with particular horse tones, so it will give you some good suggestions.

A sorrel can go either with bright colors such as purple, green or blue. If you really want to get noticed, you can even go the really bright route, which would be yellow or orange. I would avoid red or pink or plain black with a sorrel, just doesn't seem to work.

Then some riders go a slightly different route. Instead of trying to contrast with the horse, they try to tone that way. So you could go with rusts, chocolate browns and cream colors to compliment your horse's colors.

In this case I would not worry about matching your clothing to your own eyes and hair. A horse and rider is seen from the distance, not up close, so it will be difficult for anyone to note the color of your eyes, and your hair will be covered by a hay so that will also change things a bit.

Good luck and have fun.
Reply:For these events, isn't it better to provide a good workmanlike appearance, and be good at the job, rather then worrying about colours?
