Chinese cooking? (spinach soup)?

What do they add in to make spinach soup taste sour, like sorrel?





I've tried to add some vinegar and lemon juice, but that just doesn't taste as good as it supposed to :-)

It is the secret. But I will let you know. It is Tamarind. You can find it at any oriental markets or stores. Don't try vinegar or lemon juice. They will make your soup taste worse.

Reply:If you are following the recipe exactly, it should taste the same. Maybe you should add lemon grass.
