What color?

what colors look good with black horses

I was thinking maybe red or lime green

what colors look good with chestnut/sorrel horses?

burgandy or hunter green maybe

Please tell me what you think...all answers will be appreciated.

What color?
It depends on what you are looking to show in your horse? I would agree with electric blue or hot pink with a black horse if you are really trying to make it very obvious and very "popping". If you want a more subtle color possibly a deep purple or blood red.

If he/she is a lighter chestnut (maybe with the almost orange tints of a dun) I would highly suggest a black halter. I saw one just the other day and it honestly looked stunning. The difference in the colors was very dramatic. If you want a more subtle look I would say you are right on target with burgundy or hunter green.

Oh, also consider the facial markings... if you want a more subtle look and your horse has a lot of white on the face you might want black on black or burgundy / mahogany on chestnut.
Reply:Black just goes with everything...but I like the "hot" colors, the lime, the orange, the pink...

Now a chestnut is good with royal blue...and the hunter green.
Reply:Black horses:

red

dark red

hunter green

white

Chesnut/sorrel horses:

hunter green

black

white

baby blue

burgandy
Reply:all my saddle pads are shades of blue.

blue looks great on evry horse and its different %26amp; stands out.

black horses can pretty much have anything but out of red %26amp; green id choose red.

and green for chestnuts/sorrels.

but yeh i think blues the best :)
Reply:I have a black horse and he wears electric blue. It may sound unusual but i've had lots of compliments. It definitely draws the judges eyes when i'm showing him too.

For my old chestnut horse i use burgundy but he also had a olive green cover which suits too.
Reply:For the black a red or dark green would look good. Lime green would also look okay.

For chesnut/sorrel a really dark turquois blue color. It looks really good.

Reply:ANY color looks good on a black horse.. Black is like white.. goes with anything ........

Chestnut.... I like green..... or maybe an Indian patterned tan
Reply:Black%26amp;Blue....

Chestnut%26amp;HunterGreen...
Reply:I think red looks best on a black horse.

Or green (not lime, though..too bright.).

Like, with leg wraps, blankets, and bridles etc.

And Im not sure about the chestnut.

I think green would look good on it too. IDK.
Reply:i think burgandy is a good idea as well as red, maybe even a dark purple.
Reply:A bright color would look good on a black horse. When my friend took her black stallion to the local horse expo - he was decked out in bright red and it really made him stand out. I use bright blue on my black mare.

A lighter chesnut, I would go with black or hunter green.-hunter is Viking's color and he looks very good in it.

A darker, more sorrel color, I would go with burgandy or a blue.
Reply:Black horses always look good in electric or really bright colours like lime green or red or even electric blue.

Chestnut and sorrel horses look good in green and light blues.
Reply:for a black horse red would go. not lime green that would be awnful.

hunter green goes brilliantly with a chestnut!!!
Reply:Turquoise for a black horse.

Hunter green for a chestnut.
